Our server is online again!

After some serious trouble our ISP has now fixed our internet connection. You are now able to reach us via e-mail again. If you’ve sent us an e-mail during the last three days it might be a good idea to send it again since odds are it’s been lost in all the chaos.

In this recruitment test for the Swedish Armed Forces you use your webcam to complete a series of tests. You use your arms to wave at the objects appearing on screen, when you do so you load and activate them in different ways.

What makes the site unique, besides the awesome digitized voice over (recorded and processed by us of course), is that we created a real time connection between the interaction objects and the sound. E.g. when you start to load the objects you get a unique sound that follows your movement and the visual effects. Totally awesome (both for the experience and the usability)!

We took care of everything concerning sound on this project. Both creatively (what should sound, how should it sound, etc), audiowise (recording voice, creating sound design, etc) and codewise (unique interaction solution, implementation to site using our framework, etc). As usual.

Saab – Anything But Ordinary

Using all the separate mix tracks, from a specially written pop song, we created a smashing adaptive sound track to follow the user through this experience. By using all the different parts of the song the music adapts and follows your moves through out the site.

We also did some heavy sound design stuff, like externaly synced interactive sounds to all the (maaany) movie clips used to build the site. All to create some nice variation and to make it sync no matter what frame rate your computer can handle.

Hiring: Interactive Sound Developer

Do you want to change how the web sounds forever? DinahMoe is looking for an AS3 developer with a true passion for music and sound.

The Job
You will be responsible for the interactive audio post production in interactive projects. You will work closely with sound designers and music producers to create the raw material for the interactive sound track. You will have a close contact with our client’s developers and guide them through the pre-production phase. You will use internally developed tools for post production to add the sound and music to the site, flow control, transitions, mixing, etc. You will develop logic for more advanced real-time control of music and sound. Your work environment will be ProTools, Logic, the development IDE of your choice, our own post production development environment.

DinahMoe is a digital production company 100% dedicated to music and sound. We do adaptive music and interactive sound design for the web and other interactive media. Selling cars in a well cut suit and Technicolor, it just HAS to work! North Kingdom made this elegant and perfectly executed pearl and we got the opportunity to add some adaptive magic to the sound track. We did the adaptive music production, sound design and interactive post production.

This one is by far the most advanced adaptive music project we have done so far. It contains 6 unique songs in different tempos, user interactivity affects how each song is put together, the orchestra adapts itself when the user navigates the site, the music is mixed in real-time with the host’s voices, syncing all to some 40 different video assets, and so on.

Didn’t you notice? We don’t mind. The whole purpose is to hide this complexity to you the visitor and just let you enjoy a musical, seamless, smooth trip. And of course: eventually buy the car.

We created some hospital soap opera music to this great site intro. We also used that music to make adaptive background music to liven up the page. So good it hurts!

(For all you none Norwegian speaking people, the site is quite funny and ironic.)

WANTED! Extraordinary iPhone/iPad/JavaScript/HTML5 projects

During the last two years we have come quite far in adaptive music and interactive sound design. With projects as Hotel 626 (2008), SAAB Change Perspective and Adidas Teamgeist (2009), Lexus Dark Ride (2010) we have moved the frontiers what can be done with music and sound in a Flash production. Now we want to do the same with iPhone/iPad and JavaScript/HTML5 applications.

A beautiful site with timelapse videos of plants growing in different soils. The purpose is to demonstrate the importance of picking the correct soil for your plants.

We made some lovely adaptive music that follow the plants growth and gives the site a down to earth feel. Of course we also did the sound design and handled all the voice over business.

This is a truly great site about the magical swedish snus (it makes you lightheaded, lighthearted and handsome! Plz read the warning lables for complete info LOL!). We actually made this quite some time ago, it just didn’t gone online until now.

We composed sexy sexy organ music (inspired by the great Sir Julian) to grove with the host. When we made the music we were very inspired and made it super energetic and awesome, unfortunately we had to take the craziness down a bit and kill some of our darlings before the site went online. It still awesome though, so ccccheck it out!

Lexus Dark Ride

As soon as we got the brief from our new found friends at Stink Digital we knew that this was going to be something amazing. Turned out we were correct.

For this huuuge interactive movie experience we created the entire interactive sound and music solution. We did some spiffy 3d sound (that follows your movements in the POV scenes), and we made sure that the sound and music adapted seamlessly to what happens on the screen. We did all the sound design (with the help of our talented friends at PLOP), Mikael Fakesch created the music that we edited, remixed and adapted for interactive use.

Swedish internet provider Bredbandsbolaget made a crazy song thingie site. When you push pause, the video pauses and you can interact with all the stuff that’s in the freeze frame.

What we did was to make the music seamlessly continue to play when you hit pause, but in a way that matches the freeze frame. If you pause when the guitar guy is in the picture, the music continues with a guitar based music pattern. Neat, huh?

Well, Knullträdet should really be translated into The Fuck Tree, but I thought that was a bit vulgar to put in the headline – also The Sexual Intercourse Tree is a much funnier/stranger thing to say.

However, this is a small site that calculates how many people you’ve had sex with if you count your partners previous partners and so on. The aim is to make people aware of the aids and HIV.

We made some lovely sound design matching the graphics, we also did the interactive mix (as always), we did not have anything to do with the music on this one.

(We made this super awesome site with SUPER adaptive music and lots of musical goodies hidden in the navigation and stuff. Also, the video syncs to the music. We made the music and sound production, the interactive mix, the adaptive music solution and all the musical games/toys that can be found through out the site).

The site isn’t available in english yet, we’ll let you know when it is.

This site was a Merit winner at the One Show 2010 in the sound design category.

One Show silvers and gold!

The Recruitment 2009 site (North Kingdom and DDB Stockholm) won a gold pencil in the ”Integrated Branding Campaign” category and a silver pencil in the ”Public Service/ Non-Profit” category! That’s just freakin’ awesome! We made the interactive sound solution stitching this awesome production together.
